You are all invited to the Creativity Court this Saturday for YELF Literary Evening with 2017 NLNG Prize in Literature Winner Ikeogu Oke where he will talk about his works of poem.

We are also calling on the Poetry community in Kaduna to come and thrill us with their words as the stage would also be open.

Come with your friends and enjoy the wonderful evening we have planned for you!!!!

Who is Ikeogu Oke?

Ikeogu Oke is a Nigerian poet, writer and journalist. His poetry and short fiction have been published in the United States, the UK, Nigeria and India since 1988. In 2010 the Nobel Laureate Nadine Gordimer selected Salutes without Guns, his second collection of poems, as one of her two Books of the Year for The Times Literary Supplement (TLS), describing him as “a writer who finds the metaphor … as perhaps only a poet can.” His fifth poetry book, The Heresiad, was winner of the Nigeria Prize for Literature for 2017.

Oke has also authored poetry for children, including Song of Success (2013), a musical book of children’s poems. He is one of four Nigerian poets whose poems were included in The Second Genesis (2014), an anthology of contemporary world poetry recently published in India
