YELF ARTIST OF THE MONTH MAY, 2020
Faiza Bello was born in November 2001 in her hometown of Kaduna. She later proceeded to Queen’s College Lagos where she begged her secondary school certificate.
In her desire to express herself through the art of writing, Faiza invests quality time in poetry; using it judiciously to exhibit her innate creativity and pass her message across. In particular, she uses her work as a tool for agitation towards women’s right as well as support for the fight against child abuse.
Faiza has participated in some literary workshops and competitions. In 2019, she emerged the 2nd runner-up for the Professor Andrew Nok Poetry Prize.
She is outspoken and dedicated to her academic pursuit. If Faiza is not writing, she is either surfing the net or learning a new recipe.
Faiza is an emerging voice in the wilderness of injustice, sexual molestation and other social vices. She is a progressive, who like Heraclitus, believes that the only thing that is constant in life is change.
